Regional Shared Services

The Southcoast Public Health Coalition includes shared staff members who facilitate cross-jurisdictional activities and further the mission of the Coalition through their regional services. They collaborate with and support municipal staff members by increasing capacity and capabilities across the various municipalities.

  • Shared Services Coordinator: The Shared Services Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the Coalition and Public Health Excellence grant
  • Regional Epidemiologist: The Regional Epidemiologist tracks disease trends for all state-mandated reportable diseases. They utilize data reporting systems for disease surveillance, create data visualizations, and compile resources to stay up to date with evolving disease-related situations to identify which people are most at risk, what is making them sick, and what the community needs to stay healthy. The Regional Epidemiologist also provides management or support during outbreaks as they occur.
  • Regional Public Health Nurse: The Regional Public Health Nurse, based out of Seekonk, provides public health nursing services to Seekonk residents and support to the public health nurses serving in Swansea, Somerset, and Fall River, primarily through back-up nursing coverage. Additionally, the Regional PHN conducts community outreach, educational sessions, and attends various community events to inform public audiences on critical public health issues.
  • Regional Inspector: The Regional Inspector provides routine, housing, and food-related inspectional services across the SSA. They also provide critical inspectional coverage as necessary.
  • Public Health Specialist: The Public Health Specialist works to provide public health outreach and education via digital media campaigns, print materials, and physical outreach at community events.
